Cityblock

Every city has a street it forgot.

The Lindengasse used to be the loveliest street in town. Now it's a grey, four-lane road. The windows are boarded up, the shutters are down, there are potholes everywhere, and the traffic never stops. Cityblock is a cozy city builder about this one street, and about bringing it back to life.

Fix it up. Take the boards off, replace the broken glass, scrub off the graffiti, wash the grime away. Restore a whole house and its old colours come back. People walking past notice, and they start to stay.

Open the corner café. Then a bakery next door. Later a gelateria, a bookshop, a wine bar, a record shop. There are fifteen kinds of shop, each with its own interior, its own menu and three stages of renovation. Furnish them table by table and watch your first regulars arrive.

Take the street back from the cars. Give parking spaces to café terraces. Paint zebra crossings, bring the speed down to 30 and lay quiet new asphalt. Once the bus and then the tram come, narrow the road, lane by lane, until the old cobblestones return.

Watch it come alive. Every tree, bench and string of lights draws people in, and they show you what they think. Click anyone to read what's on their mind. Hidden combinations wait to be found, and each shop can earn five stars. Newcomers will knock and ask to open a shop of their own.

Cityblock is in early development and runs in your browser. You cannot fully play through everything yet. It plays best on a desktop computer in fullscreen, with Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Your game is saved in your browser.
